You may also want to call Amevive at 1-866-AMEVIVE (1-866-263-8483), and enroll into the Biogen Amevive Pregnancy Registry.

There is no data about whether this medicine passes into breast milk. Since the effect of this drug on the baby is unknown, it is important to talk to your doctor before starting to breast-feed.

Studies on monkeys did not reveal any impaired fertility, abortifacient (causing abortion) effects, fetal toxicity or teratogenic effects (harm to the fetus), while the female monkeys received Amevive. However, since animal studies cannot predict the human response, this data cannot be used for any assumptions in regard to humans.

Amevive should not be used during pregnancy, except for the cases when it's clearly needed.

The safety of Amevive for children has not been studied, and the drug cannot be indicated for pediatric patients.
