With the extended forms of psoriasis and a prolonged psoriatic process, and the absence of any remissions it is preferable to carry out a special therapeutic diet. Prior to doing this the patient should compulsorily be tested for the determination of the content in the blood of different macro-elements and micro-elements: sodium, potassium, calcium, chlorine, magnesium, zinc, copper, phosphorus, as well as the balance of vitamins A, B and C.
Depending on the results of the blood test, there will be prescribed an individual therapeutic diet with 7-8 food intakes per day, during the first day an adult patient will be given 60g of magnesium sulfate.
Therapeutic diet products work on eliminating the unbalance of main micro-elements and macro-elements.

In individual therapeutic diets the food intake should consist of only one food product - 1 type of vegetable or fruit or porridge of 1 food product from the above. Size of a meal on the average is 250-300 g.
Therapeutic diet should continue for 10-12 days, after which a patient is transferred into the usual diet regimen. Such courses should take place 1-2 times per year.
Some data sources indicate a high efficiency of the therapeutic diet course in treatment of people with psoriasis.
