The so-called New Ration diet is based on the old-vegetarian diet. Old-vegetarian diet excludes from the diet all products, which directly or indirectly have animal origin. New Ration diet additionally includes, for example, honey and mushrooms. New Ration diet is one of the diets that people with psoriasis may try. It improves metabolism (sum total of all processes in the body and its cells, such as when foods are turned into energy, tissue, and waste products) and the state of the skin.
The New Ration diet includes cereals, beans, nuts, vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, mushrooms, honey, as well as any products, prepared from those enumerated, such as bread, grains, vegetable oils, frozen vegetables and fruits, juices, dried fruits, dried herbs and dried mushrooms. From the New Ration diet excluded are: pasta, fancy bread, cakes, ice cream, mayonnaise, chocolate, candies etc.
Since New Ration is a vegetarian diet, it excludes meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and cocoa. Also excluded are: alcoholic beverages, as well as soda drinks, chewing gums. Spicy seasonings, pickles and marinades, i.e. not canned in their own juice, and water products are also excluded.
The New Ration may decrease vitamins and micro-elements due to many limitations in the food products; therefore it is advised to take daily, after food 1 tablet of a Vitamin Complex. This is especially important in the winter-spring period, when the body needs vitamins the most.
Try to use more various natural products. Remember that in vegetarian diets fresh is always more preferable than boiled, fried, and canned. If possible, try to opt for fresh fruits, mushrooms, and herbs instead of dried. Try not to use salt and sugar while cooking, instead add them if necessary to a meal.
Drink filtered water and fresh juices and try to limit tea and coffee.
