Various Watermelon Diets:

1. Diet for Psoriasis and Obesity

Within the day eat watermelons on the calculation of 1 kg of watermelon per 10 kg of body weight. For example if your weight is 60 kg during the day you should eat 6 kg of watermelon, if your weight is 80 kg - 8 kg of watermelon, if your weight is 110 kg - 11 kg of watermelon etc.

During the day also eat 100-200g of low-fat cottage cheese.

Breakfast: unsweetened porridges cooked with water, better buckwheat; in 5-6 days it is possible to add a slice of cheese

Lunch: lean meat, fish, or chicken and vegetable salad without fatty sauces, possible to add lemon juice

Dinner: watermelon from the calculation of 1 kg of watermelon pulp on 30 kg of the body weight

General recommendations:

You will probably not experience physiological hunger, but you will experience psychological hunger due to temporarily eliminating all of the foods that you are used to eating. It all depends on your attitude and on the desire to achieve the results. Those that wish to lose weight will be happy to hear that 100g of the watermelon pulp contain only 38 calories.

With Watermelon diet it is recommended to take a shower or bath at least 2 times a day since the skin actively participates in the process of cleaning the body.

It is possible to drink boiled water with honey, and to add several drops of lemon juice or grapefruit juice.

Various notes:

  1. Besides the internal use of watermelon it is also possible to externally apply the watermelon pulp onto psoriatic plaques - it is a known holistic remedy to apply the pulp of watermelon to affected psoriasis places.
  2. Watermelon diet will give a better result if applied together with other therapies - for example the UVB lamps.
  3. First 3 days of the diet are the hardest, and then you start feeling better.
  4. In the beginning of the diet there may even begin a mild psoriatic aggravation, but toward the end of the diet general health and psoriasis both considerably improve.
  5. The pulp of a watermelon contains about 9% of easily digested sugars, 0.5% of very tender food fibers, which help to derive excessive cholesterol from the body. Watermelons are rich in important mineral elements - Magnesium, Potassium and Iron. Watermelons contain the following vitamins - Carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin PP, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2 and Folic acid.

How to select good watermelon

Watermelons are best to buy at the end of August or in the beginning of September.

Chose a watermelon with mostly a dark green color with brighter stripes, the more the contrast of the colors, the tastier should be the watermelon.

Watermelon should not be lusterless - clear solar speck of light should appear on a watermelon in the sun.

"Tail" of the watermelon should be yellowish and slightly dried, but not completely dry, since this is the first sign of a long storage or transportation of the watermelon. If the tail is torn - just put this watermelon aside and chose another one. Not only the tail, but also the place where the "tail" is connected to the watermelon should be dry - this is the main sign of the maturity of a watermelon.

Select a watermelon of an average size (optimally - 5-7 kg), it is better to take several small watermelons than one striped monster of 20 kilograms.

When at home - thoroughly wash the watermelon. During washing you may once again verify the ripeness of the watermelon - ripened fruit will swim in the water, and unripened one will sink. Ripe watermelon makes a cracking sound when being sliced, and the seeds will be dark brown or even black (but not white).

Be healthy and bon appetite!

Storage

The unsliced watermelons are better to store at room temperature or in a slightly cool place, and the sliced ones - in the refrigerator.
