We’ve all heard about the benefits of oatmeal porridge, but what about oatmeal psoriasis? I’m not sure if oatmeal can help P, but it’s definitely worth a try. I have found several people writing that oatmeal helped their psoriasis. In general, it seems to help as drinks and in baths. Following I will list the recipes that I’ve found. I’m going to try some of them myself. If I see any results, I will state them here later.
Oatmeal Psoriasis Drink #1
One person had a striking effect from oatmeal drinks. Their psoriasis improved and they started to feel better overall. Here’s their simple recipe: 1 liter of water + 1 cup of oats – bring this to a boil and leave on low heat for 30 minutes. Wait until it cools down and drink all you like (you can do this once or twice a day). They say it’s tasty, but you can add a spoonful of honey to make it even tastier.
Oatmeal Psoriasis Drink #2
Here is a clipping from the newspaper: one guy had a bad allergy in the spring – his nose was running constantly and eyes watering; he could not even work. Then it was suggested that he do this: take whole oatmeal, grind it in a coffee grinder, place it into a thermos and pour in boiling water. Let it stand for 4 hours and drink it for breakfast. This worked quickly, and the allergy completely disappeared.
Oatmeal Psoriasis Baths
Take a transparent stocking and put a cup of regular oatmeal inside. Place it into the tub when you start the bath water running. It will swell and the water will turn white. Rub your body with it as if it was a regular sponge. You can take these baths once or twice a week, for as many weeks as you wish. Psoriasis should become lighter and the skin should soften.
I understand that oatmeal isn’t likely to be a cure, but it may be a useful addition. Many people have noted that their plaques have become much more elastic, flat, and less itchy. But one person actually cured their psoriasis using oatmeal psoriasis baths. They had p. for 10 years, and tried every cure out there (cheap and expensive). They don’t have p. anymore. They would tie a cup of porridge oats in a pair of stockings and run hot water over it when starting a bath. They had a 20 min bath every night, and their psoriasis stopped dead.
