dear Ennjhy, Hi.
I have psoriasis. When I ate black berries for the first time, I found my skin entrily clean!!!!! For 4 months I was really happy that I was get rid of pesoriasis and all of my skin had been cleaned.after eating countinusly black berries all of my skin had been cleared. unfortunately in Iran we don't have blackberries in all seasons( just in summer). as soon as I left it, my disease came back. here in Iran we have a website in persian language(it dosen't support english).and every body in that website used black berry. it was good for most of 'em and unfortunately non of them know english to write on. relax with eating black berries. only black berry not white berry or straw berry. salmon and totally fish products,in some psoriasis patients are good and in the rest are bad . it depends on your body.
at last don't forget to eat black berries and if they are mostly found in ur country plz eat 'em continiously and don'tr get dispair in your way. 20 blackberry a day or more. thanks.

Hi Reza!

Basically, now my only treatment is a diet. Of fruits, I eat: apples, bananas, and grapes, but psoriasis diets allow many other fruits too. I also eat a vegetable shake 3 times a day (made in a blender from veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, carrots, spinach, etc.). I also drink plenty of water. In addition, I eat olive oil, chicken, turkey, and fish (not fried).

I got my diet ideas from: the Pagano book (Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative) and howtobeatpsoriasis.com (this is where I got the vegetable shake idea).

I don’t take any vitamin tablets, even though some people do. I do take omega supplements (fish oil and flaxseed oil), but I think that the diet is the key. In two words, psoriasis diets call for sticking to alkalizing foods and staying away from acidic foods.

Even though originally I am from Europe, right now I am in Central America for a while :)

Hi Reza!

Yep, Elocon is a medium potency steroid. They usually first help rapidly and then psoriasis often creeps back…

When a given potency steroid is used for a long time, the body starts to get used to it and it often happens that then only a stronger steroid helps. Plus all side-effects…

I’m not a doctor but that’s what I understand about steroids. I was treated with them a couple of times many years ago.

Now I’m trying a healthy diet (no - gluten, dairy, sugar, processed, canned, etc.; yes - lots of fruits and veggies, water, fish, etc.). Slowly but it works (which is no wonder).

I also find UVB very helpful.

Hope this helps...

Hi, Taylor,

I'm really sorry to hear that... Yes, the diet seems to have everything to do with it. I started the Pagano diet a week ago and there are many cheap veggies like carrots, cabbage, and onions. Plus oatmeal and canned fish (in water) - they are cheap too.

I've had psoriasis since I was 8 years old, I'm 19 now. I'm (85-90% covered) and creams do not help unless they are consistantly used as soon as it's absorbed. which is like 15 minutes or less. I'm just now learning that the things i eat effect my psoriasis. The problem is that i'm poor and canned food is pretty much the only food i can get ahold of along with pasta. please help

Nathan, thank you for sharing your tips. "Elocon" is a topical steroid (Mometasone furoate 0.1%), so it should definitely help. I agree with you about sugar 100%, and I'm also noticing the same about wheat. I stay away from both.

Anyone who has scalp psoriasis, i would suggest asking your doctor for "Elocon" lotion. I have been applying it for a month every day in conjunction with "neutrogena, T Gell" shampoo and my scalp psoriasis has almost completely dissapeared. No more wiping my shoulders to get rid of dandruf :). Also i have recently noticed how bad sugar is for psoriasis, so try and stay clear. nathan

Survivor: ...
i have moderate psoriasis (30-35% body covered), and i'm sticking with the diet since the 13th of February, i didn't touch sugar or coffee or anything canned or bottled, eliminated meat beef and everything that has fat, eating an onion and lots of garlic/day, only eating whole wheats only and drinking grapefruit juice every morning, taking brewer's yeast, and since yesterday i started taking fish oil (cod liver), and using something the doctor prescribed for me to put onto my psoriasis, along with trying to get as much sun as i can and exercising daily, and i'm taking natural ACV daily.. i'm really happy right now and proud of myself, i'm clearing nearly my entire body is clearing, psoriasis is still active on my right knee a little (bearable), on my right hand (unbearable, making me go nuts sometimes it's 15% covered right now) my scalp (my scalp is better as it was covered at about 40-50% before, now it's about 15% but it's refusing to get better since last month, and it's making me go crazy too) my own guess is why i still have psoriasis now is because i'm a very nervous person, i'm softhearted but i get angry pretty easily and never forget anything, that's a bad thing very bad thing if you have psoriasis...
I have too much to talk about now, if you need anything reply here I check this page daily to make sure i'm alright with the diet..

And Thanks a lot for the site creator

YOU CHANGED MY LIFE, IN FACT YOU SAVED MY LIFE, THANK YOU
