Both - for Psoriasis Prevention and for improving the state of psoriasis there can be used various stress-relieving techniques.
If your child has just recently developed psoriasis, try not to get overly upset by that. Of course it is unpleasant news, but stress only makes matters worse.
Children can feel your stress and anxiety with their "sixth sense". If they lose their parent's confidence, a child will also start to worry. A positive attitude in the parents is usually reflected in their kids as well.
People with psoriasis know that stress has a very bad affect on psoriasis.
First of all try to analyze what stress your child might have: insufficient sleep, disorganized schedule, skipping meals, being dressed inappropriately warm or cold, a conflict in a kindergarten or at school, too much studying and not enough rest etc.
It may even be something like tight or uncomfortable foot-wear.
Analyze the possible stress that a child may be experiencing and try to eliminate it.
Children older than 2-3 y/o may also try the following simple relaxation techniques:
-
Count to 10 and Back;
-
Smile at the Mirror: the child is smiling at the mirror for a few minutes, or for as long as it takes to improve the child's mood;
-
Study the Details: the child fixes her/his view on any object for a few minutes and examines it in details.
It is important to teach a child to create a positive attitude and to relax if stressed.
Try to set a good example to your child by also being positive and relaxed.
What about older children and teenagers? How to help them relax and to gain a positive attitude?
One of the techniques to try may be the relaxation and positive visualization technique for psoriasis.
