Is Psoriasis Contagious?

Is Psoriasis Contagious? Psoriasis is NOT Contagious and NOT Infectious.

It is proven that psoriasis cannot be transmitted in any way, EXCEPT for genetics. It is impossible to get infected by psoriasis through neither type of transmission, including direct or indirect transmission, air-borne transmission, through sex, a handshake, insects, etc. Psoriasis cannot be transmitted from animal to another animal or person.

Throughout the entire history of humankind, there was not one case of psoriasis transfer from one person to another, in spite of thousands of blood transfusions from people with psoriasis.

Please remember: this genetic disorder is not transmittable, and cannot be communicated. Psoriasis is not dangerous to anyone who is around people with psoriasis.

Psoriasis is NOT Infectious, therefore it is NOT Contagious.

Psoriasis is not contagious, it's genetic. It is also known to skip generations. Just because no living family members have it doesn't mean it has not been in your family. Your great great grandma might have been the one that had it.

Hanna, psoriasis appears in the same spots in all people, just like atopic dermatitis.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, just like atopic dermatitis and vitiligo, as well as cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and celiac disease.

Hanna and Eve. Where is your proof? Just because no one in your family had symptomatic expression of the disease does not mean that they did not have the disease. Psoriasis can be dormant. Additionally you may have contracted something else altogether. If it is psoriasis, then you have had it your entire life. Please do not spread gossip or misinformation.

It is contagious. I, nor anyone in my family have ever had it. I married, age 62, and I have it exactly where my legs touch my husbands legs whe we sleep. We spoon. He has had it for years. He said he got it the same way, years ago.
