There are 3 main Seasonal Psoriasis Types:
- Winter Psoriasis;
- Summer Psoriasis;
- Seasonally Not Determined Psoriasis.
Winter Psoriasis
Winter Psoriasis is characterized by psoriatic flare-ups more frequently in the autumn, winter and spring. Winter Psoriasis is the most frequent Seasonal Psoriasis Type. In the summer (under the effect of the sun) Winter Psoriasis usually improves.
Summer Psoriasis
Summer Psoriasis is characterized by psoriatic flare-ups more frequently in the summer. Summer Psoriasis is a rare Seasonal Psoriasis Type.
Summer Psoriasis is believed to flare-up due to the UV light of the sun, therefore a person with the Summer Psoriasis should try not to suntan and also to use sun screens in the summer. People with the Summer Psoriasis also should not use light therapy (UVB, PUVA, or Laser light therapy).
Seasonally Not Determined Psoriasis
The Seasonally Not Determined Psoriasis may flare-up or remiss both in the summer and in the winter. The Seasonally Not Determined Psoriasis is also a rare Seasonal Psoriasis Type.
