Sun exposure in moderation is very useful for most people with psoriasis. A small quantity of people, (about 10%) report that the sun does not help them in healing psoriasis.
If your skin is very pale, or if you have the so-called summer psoriasis (psoriasis which aggravates in the summer, possibly under the effect of the sun) you may need to use sun-screen creams to protect your skin. You may even have to try to completely avoid the solar rays.
Among the black population the percentage of those that have psoriasis is considerably lower than in the white population.
People, who live in a cold climate, usually note a substantial improvement of their psoriasis after a stay in a warmer sunny climate.
Some scientists connect this improvement with the higher humidity and a higher solar radiation, others - with the higher humidity and a higher temperature.
Sun exposure in moderation usually improves the state of psoriasis; however, sunburn, on the contrary, can cause the Flare Up of psoriasis.
