Psoriasis Homeopathic Treatment

This article is about psoriasis homeopathic treatment – a very controversial subject, which raises many questions. Psoriasis sufferers state different experiences: from bad flare ups to no change to the complete remission of psoriasis. Let’s look into psoriasis homeopathic treatment in more detail.

The Founder of Homeopathy - Samuel Hahnemann

The founder of homeopathy is a German doctor, homeopath, and naturopath - Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). These days, he would probably have the title of ND (naturopathic doctor, doctor of naturopathy). Hahnemann gave his own explanation of psoriasis and proposed a treatment. He claimed that the cause of psoriasis is the “infectious agent” which he called the “miasma psora” - “immaterial” but “contagious” (though, today we know that psoriasis is NOT Contagious). According to Hahnemann, getting rid of “psoric miasma” should lead to the disappearance of psoriasis.

Hahnemann probably meant infection – a chlamydial/mycoplasmal mix (chlamydial/ureaplasmatic mix). He claimed that the patient has to be relieved from chlamydia and mycoplasma (ureaplasmosis). Proposed treatment: the use of special homeopathic medicines. Today, homeopathy also aims to strengthen the immune system and tune the body, so that the body fixes itself and regains the disturbed equilibrium.

Time Needed to Heal Psoriasis via Homeopathy

Homeopaths believe that the time needed to cure any disease via homeopathic means is 1 month of treatment for 1 year of illness. That is, if you have had psoriasis for 12 years, you will need 12 months (1 year) to cure it. It’s frustrating for the patient to wait so long. The duration of homeopathic treatment for psoriasis is a big drawback, but homeopaths say that the immune system needs at least 3-4 months to fix itself (with some exceptions being fresh/minor cases, as well as children). If there is no result after 3-4 months, you may want to try new medications (and perhaps a new doctor as well).

Homeopathic Psoriasis Treatment Plan

Homeopaths say that remedies are selected for each patient individually. An optimal homeopathic psoriasis treatment plan is always difficult to choose, and takes multiple trials and errors, because psoriasis is very individual. The result of a patient’s condition is like a test, as homeopathy is very difficult to “prove” by any other means...

Homeopathy uses the so-called “natural remedies” in very small quantities. These are drops and colorful round tablets, taken a few times a day. Oral homeopathic medicines for psoriasis include (all by Heel Homeopathics): Psorinoheel, Sulphur-Heel, Schwef-Heel, Galium-Heel, and Homaccord. Other common oral homeopathic medicines for psoriasis are: Calcarea, Lycopodium, and Graphites. Topical: Traumeel ointment (by Heel) and Psoriaten ointment (by DHU). Some homeopaths also use intravenous and intramuscular injections.

Psoriaten is an herbal ointment created by DHU (Deutsche Homöopathie-Union – German Homeopathic Union) for psoriasis treatment. This product contains the Mahonia plant’s tincture together with lanolin, paraffin and water. As shown by clinical studies, this drug decreases the formation of flakes, relieves peeling, and has an anti-inflammatory effect. This ointment is rubbed into the affected skin 3 times a day. It can be used on the scalp as well. It can be applied for a long time, and rubbed into large areas of skin. The drug is not toxic. At the same time, many homeopaths do not prescribe any external means, considering them useless and harmful, as the disease simply “hides inside” and worsens... As you see, homeopathy indeed is a very controversial matter…

Results

So, what results do psoriasis sufferers report with psoriasis homeopathic treatments? The results vary incredibly from one person to another.

Some people say they cured their psoriasis with homeopathy within 1-2 years of treatment. Many people state that after taking the drug, psoriasis usually gets worse, then improves, then gets worse again, until it finally disappears almost entirely.

Many say they were treated with homeopathy in vain, even though they were taking medication for the whole year, and their medication was altered many times during this time.

Some people had twice or thrice as many plaques after treatment!!! So, I can oppose those who believe homeopathy to be a placebo – if it was a placebo, no psoriasis sufferers would have had such flares.

They say that good homeopaths are hard to find. Perhaps that’s why there are less good than bad reviews about homeopathy. Some people also ask – how can a homeopath prescribe a “good treatment plan” without any tests? The cause of psoriasis is still unknown, so how can they know a cure for psoriasis? Other people say: the treatment is so long because it’s profitable, and naturopaths simply profit from diseases like psoriasis. Who knows?

Is psoriasis homeopathic treatment expensive? It can be quite inexpensive ($20 for a year) or very expensive ($300 - $500 for a year)...

I personally advise that all people interested read a book on homeopathy to clear-up any questions. What else is there to do for psoriasis sufferers, other than cherish a hope for a cure? Be sure to educate yourself on this matter first, so that things don’t get worse.

I am 25 years old and have had psoriasis since i was 10 years old. I use to use dovonex when i was young and would wrap my knees and elbows with plastic wrap. It would keep it under control somewhat but not cure it. I also had compounds made with Lcd and just smelt terrible and was super greasy. I used betamethosone on my scalp which it smells terrible and burns the Scalp a bit. The one time i went to Mexico when i was 24 i had gotten lots of sun on my knees and the psoriasis went away...when i got home to Vancouver bc the psoriasis came back after a couple od f weeks. I work at a pharmacy and recently started researching homeopathy and speaking with the heel rep. He gave me a sample of traumeel and i tried it on my left knee and didn't put any on my right. Using it for a month really improved the appearance of the knee.

Homeopathy is an individualised treatment. You need to see a qualified homeopath to prescribe your remedy. I have treated my patients with different remedies that matched their individual symptom picture and had great results with clearing Psoriasis.

I had Psoriasis for years from my teens. I had tried all allopathic medicine which only suppressed the psoriasis which returned once I stopped applying the steroid creams.
Homoeopathy got rid of my Psoriasis.
I have been free now of Psoriasis for 7 years. I was so impressed I returned to college studied Homoeopathy for 4 years and am now a qualified classical homoeopath.
I don't understand the science of homoeopathy, but I don't need to - I KNOW IT WORKS:)
