Face Psoriasis

Face Psoriasis can appear anywhere on the face: on the sides of the nose to the sides of the nostrils (the nasolabial folds), on and around the eyelids, on and around the eyebrows, on the forehead, on the cheeks, and on the chin.

The most common locations are the area around the nose (the nasolabial folds) and the area around the eyes. Face Psoriasis rarely covers the whole face.

In rare cases the border of the lips can also be affected.

Face Psoriasis often appears in a few weeks or months after an ear piercing or a nose piercing. People who wear glasses may develop patches of psoriasis where their glasses nose pads sit on the nose. In the case of a person who wears glasses develops psoriasis for example on the eyebrows, the flakes may stick to the lenses causing a lot of discomfort.

Scalp Psoriasis may sometimes spread down and cover most of the forehead and thus start turning into Face Psoriasis.

When Face Psoriasis affects the eyelids, lashes may become covered with scales, and the edges of the eyelids may become red and crusty. If the rims of the eye lids stay inflamed for long periods of time, they may turn up or down. If the rim turns down, lashes can start rubbing against the eyeball, causing irritation.
