I fell for everyone who is suffering from psoriasis! it is so awful and consumes so much time trying to find some form of relief.we all get the look from people who don't understand it,I have had people jerk their hand back when i have gone to shake it,the cashier who won't put your change in hand and and places it on the counter and the stares and finger points and rude comments about why are they out in public, etc. For a long time I refused to go anywhere, because i would get so upset and end up crying.and family members telling you to stop scratching-they just don't understand how much it itches and you feel like your going crazy from it!i have finally got to the point that I don't give a damn what other people say anymore,I want to live my life and have fun-no more hiding for me! I go every where and where what i want-i don't try to hide it!If anyone says something or stares-I kindly explain what i have and let them know they will not catch it!i even joke about it!I went through light therapy, did the lotions and creams, and I refuse to take anymore pills and shots. The one thing that I have found to help and ease the itching-is pure virgin coconut oil! I read an article and figured why not? It cleared up the psoriasis on my arms and most on my legs and on my face.some areas it just made it less itchy .it did not make it completely disappear, but the relief!!when i stress,it flares up,but everybody was shocked how well my arms cleared up.my face is better and so are other areas .now it is winter again and my skin is flaring up,but summer seems to be easier to control.i wish i could show pictures of the difference.i just wanted to let everyone know that coconut oil helped me and maybe it will work for someone else.I use it all day long, whenever I can apply it.I know we are all looking for a little relief.so many of these stories break my heart because I can feel the pain.It is so great to have found your site !i hope we can all encourage each other to hang in there!!!

I've had psoriasis on my scalp since infancy. Now the biggest problem is in my fingernails. For the scalp sufferers.... It's by prescription and expensive but Luxiq foam is great and does not cause the hair to be greasy. I'm now looking for a good nail remedy that doesn't wash away with hand washing.

I´m 42 and I have psoriasis in my penis, since 2010. My parents don´t have this disease. I think stress may causes the problem and when the crisis begins, i use Daivobet (sold by Roche, in Brazil - please, check the name in the USA). It works very well, but my skin is very thin, sensible... so, after 4 weeks, it hurts a lot. But the final result is good.

I started having rough dry red areas on my ankle then spreading up my legs onto my sides and back some. They are symmetrical, meaning if I have one spot on one side, it's on the other side almost in the same place. I was told I had Mummular Eczema and was treated with creams and ointments, which did not work. I was then put on a mild antibiotic called Doxcycline, which seemed to help over time, finally went away for about 5 months. Thought it was gone, not so, came back with a vengeance. I have been fighting this for over a year, I am almost 65 yrs old. I had a biopsy taken 2 weeks ago which came back as Nummular Eczema, how ever, I went to a Dr. to get the stitches taken out from the biopsy and he examined me good. He said, I don't believe you have eczema. First of all, eczema doesn't look like that and is not symmetrical. He said I have Psoriasis. He gave me a shot of some type of Cortaide something or other, but put me on Methotexate which is 3 pills you take all at once, only one time a week. He said it will control it, so we will see if he is right. I truly feel for all of you that suffer from this terrible thing. God bless all of you, and may God show us all a cure soon. Thanks Hope my experience can help someone get some relief.

I had to jump to the bottom because I couldn't wait to add my comment. I have had Psoriasis in my scalp, eyebrows, nails, feet, and groin for about 3 years. My mother has had Psoriasis even longer. I have started to be less self-conscious recently after realizing just how many people I know and work with have the same problems with Psoriasis that I do. We are not alone. Thank you all for sharing and hang in there.

Dear Administrator,
You have done a lovely job setting up this site. Thank you so much for the information. I was searching about arthritis, when I came upon this site. I may have found some answers my doctors overlooked. I have some complex health problems. If you could put more pictures of nail and feet, it would help me. Also maybe enable pictures to be sent to you from the members here, for comparison. Is it more itchy in different areas of the body? Is it possible to set up this thread, to answer other posts?
Again, thank you very much for all your research, and making it available.
TO EVERYONE:
KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

I was diagnosed with a fungus on my big toe like ten years ago. I took Lamasil pills and then it spread to the skin on that toe and I used every ointment invented. Then I saw a spot on my left inner-heel and it was the size of a dime and now it seems the creams are making it spread as I try to cover the outter edge of it. It is also on both side of both feet. I feel bad because sandals are out of the question. I have cold-feet (literally) so I'm not big on sandals but now that I can't wear them it seems awful. Especially since I live in sunny
Cali! I also have it on my hands but they said that was eczema. I beginning to think they don't know. A friend told me she uses the original brown-colored Lysol on her daughter and a friend of hers did also and it cleared right up. I also read vinegar and epsom salt works. Then there's the brown listerine theory. I don't know but my derm is scheduling me for UV treatment in 4 weeks. I wonder is skin cancer is a possible side effect tho he said it is miniscule risk. However, When I saw those pics and read how people have it all over I feel/felt blessed.

I found out the hard way that whatever causes psoriasis sticks to where you've been. I noticed that I always had more issues after waking up... so, one day, a doctor asked me to use only white-sheets for my bed and to wash them with bleach... this means having fresh cleaned sheets every other day. Why? Because when you sleep (or wherever), you leave a film that causes the reaction on your skin to develop again. When I started to do this, medication started to work much better... right now I manage my psoriasis with "head and shoulders" shampoo (I use it as a soap as well) and if I break out again, I'll use a product that contains "ketocanazole" as a one-time "nuke". More important than the medication though is sanitizing where you've been, bed sheets, pillows, covers, caps and even clothes if necessary... what good is the medication if you keep re-introducing your body to the same environment that has remnants of the problem?

Anna-Maria : ...
I began my battle with psoriasis at the young age of 8yrs. I look back now and remember this being a pivotal year. There was a lot of transition in my life, therefore introducing a tremendous amount of stress that year, hence a flair up of what would be a life long struggle with psoriasis and other potential auto immune disorders which I'm told sometimes accompany this disease.
The doctors my mother took me to prescribed creams which smelt really bad and caused my skin to itch and ooze, burn and spread. My mom wrapped my legs and feet with plastic wrap and tap around the cream to keep in the moisture in, but also to keep me from itching. I know it hurt my mother so much to have an eight year old daughter suffering with such issues. Then of course my self esteem was going fast I began compensating with food which acerbated the situation causing more break outs and skin irruption's stress and depression over the years.
Well to skip threw many years and a lot of trial and error I will give you where I am now. O, and for the record I have never shared and put myself out there like this I hope this helps even one person. Don' t think it's over.... It's 30 years later, and pretty much completely gone, except for the occasional flair up, and I have it, or had it bad. My arms, legs, knees, ankles, feet, toes, head, elbows, hands. Now, a little flair consists of two little spots on my knees or my knuckles, How I did it? The beach with the salt water. I began to exercise. This was the most difficult thing I had ever done in my life but I started by taking a walk and went from there. It took Thee years but I lost weight Aprox 200lb for me I needed that but after even 30lbs the psoriasis got a little better. So take that for shat you will I still ate regular foods but in moderation and I cut down on a lot of fats. find what works for you food wise. Drink water. I also sat in the sun a little every week and in the winter the tanning salon very moderately, but it works and takes away the itch. The UVs dry the psoriasis up and help with the spreading and leaking. Also rubbing alcohol, dabbing not scratching but using this to take the itch away always helped. Now for maintenance when I see a little spot come back before it spreads I grab a pack of band aids with latex cut the sticky pice off and put the sticky adhesive pice directly on the patch of dry skin I leave it on for a day or two peal it off and the skin is smooth underneath like new skin I am careful now to break the skin and I am back to "normal. I notice when I get stressed and eat a lot and very unhealthy for a long period of time I start to have a couple o break outs on my knees, but I have never since had psoriasis to the extent that I did before the changes that I made. I keep on top o it now. I am the only one of my three sisters, mother, father that has this. However I heard that my great grandmother did have psoriasis. I thank god that I have four children and thus far not one seem to display signs o the illness. I hope that in sharing all of this helps someone. I definitely put it all out there. Good luck and God Bless,,,,

hi friends. i too suffer from this since two years old. what i observe is the main source for this is not our physical body, its from mental body. means if we have unbalancing mind, in any respect and it increases the pressure and tension in mental body or mind but it shows on physical body (body) as its reduce pressure on mental body. so please take care about food and try to always be relaxed. meditation is a great tool for the control and to relax the mind.
so my suggestion is please do MEDITATION. MEDITATION MEAN SIT IN RELAXED POSITION AS U COMFORTABLE CROSS UR LEGS AND HANDS CLOSE UR EYES AND OBSERVE THE NATURAL BREATH. NOTHING ELSE.
SO WHY DONT U TEST THIS?

MY DEAR FRIENDS NOTHING TO WORRY JUST ENJOY THE LIFE BY ACCEPTING.

I was just diagnosed with Palmar Plantar Psoriasis ,,, I have had it on my left foot (inside heel) since I was nine years old. I was told about 10 years ago it was eczema and then about 3 years ago our general practitioner took a biopsy came back with the news of psoriasis. He gave me a prescription for some kind of cream that did not work and made it worse. Today I went to a Dermatologist and now I feel bad but relieved that at least I know what kind of psoriasis I have. I have started the Taclonex , and also Vetical along with Clobetasol. The minute I put the Taclonex I felt relief but will let you all know how it turns out after a couple of weeks. I feel so bad for anyone who has psoriasis but I am going to look at it positively and pray that it will turn out ok for me and that everyone who suffers with it will find relief. Thanks for the website!

I am actually very scared to see the worse sufferer of psoriasis. I had mine seen and got worst when I was 8 years, tried every kind of medicines and herbal oinments and products. It never finished completely, because I guess it was hereditary, my papa has this, my grandfather had this, and now its my time to suffer. Mine one is not painful, but all its over my head, my elbows, knees and somtimes on my face. I try anticeptic, it gets softer after I apply, but never got rid off.

my 18 year old daughter has Crohn's Disease (Auto Immune system attacks the digestive system) now looks like she may have psoriasis as well. she is already on "Remicade" IV treatments for the Crohn's which has helped keep it under control. I've just read that Remicade is one of the 'last resort' biologic solutions for psoriasis too. Hope it works for both.

I have suffered for 15 years from psoriasis. I have turned things around by eating better, not smoking or drinking and using UVB. I have not totally rid myself of this but over the last 6 months is has improved a lot. I guess I'll just have to accept it and control it the best that I can.

I know everyone has a different diet that cured them because we all have different genetics and therefore different kinks in our metabolism. The number one diet I've seen work for psoriasis is going completely gluten-free. The next-best diet in my opinion is the Failsafe diet, followed by any number of anti-inflammatory diets (they always do help, but the first two are more likely to cure), my favorite being the Zone diet.

I have had psoriasis for 26 yrs now. whatever you do DO NOT SCRATCH!!! it spreads more. I use cold packs for the itch. I apply LYDERM ointment and wrap my psoriasis with seran wrap for the night, within a few days there is a huge difference. For the scalp i use BURO-SOL powder mixed with water and apply to scalp, it's great for the itch.
i've noticed that every time i get over stressed the next day my psoriasis is flaming red.

Had psoriasis since age 6yrs. Now 55yrs old. I became very withdrawn, but decided to get on withlife. Teenage years were torture, everyone wearing very little and I was wearing 3 pairs tights and long sleeves. Also, good swimmer, but did not want to be on view in pool.Married 33years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. You just have to make the best of things and try different remedies. Try Exorex lotion, messy, but effective. also, sun helps me to get it cleared.

As a result of suffering from other health problems, I cut out wheat, gluten, most cows milk products and yeast containing foods. I use goats milk, eat loads of fruit, veg, dried fruits. Since changing my diet SLOWLY, not only do I feel well but other unrelated skin problems have gone. I am sure that the gluten was an irritant to my skin problems. It took time and determination but it was well worth it and I have grown to love the food I now eat.

Hi this comment is in response to number 8 and anyone else that may benefit from it. I have been sufferring from pustular palmar psoriasis now for a year but it never seems to be under control certainly no remission or flare ups for me!1 have just had a severe bout of scalp psorisis (which i had absolutely no idea i was sufferring from, thought it was nits from the kids) and found that for myself a mix of lemon grass, sandalwood and bergamont essential oils worked and relieved the itchiness with reduced scabs within 2 days. If you want to try use 10 mls of grapeseed oil mixed with one drop of each of them, do not apply them neat. Use blend over a couple of days i find overnight is best! Yesterday i noticed 3 bald patches on my scalp obviously i have had it for some time without treatment, which is fab !!

I’ve tried the pagano diet with success; it actually reduced the amount of psoriasis on my body. The problem that I encountered is that it literally turns your diet into that of a rabbit. I was unable to keep the willpower. It works, but it is extremely hard to stick to. So, now I am just cutting back on certain foods and treating it with UVB.

Can I pass this to my children and give them infant psoriasis? I graduate from NYCC and will be a chiropractor in 9 mos and was diagnosed with psoriasis the day after my 30th birthday (last week.) Although we learn there is no cure we also learn there is probably an immune reaction possibly a "leaky gut" that may contribute. I know I should find out if there is something going on with my intestines (especially since I have been having diarrhea lately- I thought it was stress related from being in school & ignored it!) Have you ever heard of "leaky gut" and its correlation to autoimmune diseases such as RA and psoriasis? I wanted to get pregnant for my last few months of residency, but now I am very apprehensive since so little is known about this condition. I know i am lucky to have a minor case but could I give something to my future children that would make them suffer? There are plenty of healthy kids who need homes- Please help.

It is awful how bad many people with psoriasis have it. Looking at the psoriasis pictures here makes me realize that I don’t have it that bad. It is my sincere hope that this can be cured in my lifetime. I only have it on my elbows and scalp. I hope that my psoriasis doesn’t become worse as I get older. Thank you for a very informative website on psoriasis.

P.S. If anyone has anything new that works for them on their scalp PLEASE leave a comment for me here. Thanks!

I have been prescribed TACLONEX in the past and it was wonderful for me! I put it on constantly day and night and it completely went away, and FAST! Occasionally wrapping it in saran wrap so it did not stain my clothes because it is really greasy! Clobex works well also and i find just spending time in the sun (in FL) has helped, but not so much when i lived in OH.
We have to remember this not a disease so much as an auto immune deficeny, there is no cure but there are ways to soothe.

I have had psoriasis since I was 12 years old. It has been quite tough dealing with the social implications. I have tried just about everything possible to manage it. I have had the best result with eating a healthy diet and cutting out white bread.

I occasionally use UVB treatments when it gets too far out of control. But too much UVB concerns me too.

Hoping for a cure soon!

i have had Psoriasis for 2 years. The doctors say it is because i caught it because i had a bone marrow transplant and my sister had it (it was my sisters bone marrow) they said it is a auto immune disease. i read some where that immunosuppressants like cyclosporine can help. i believe that it is a problem with my immune system attacking my skin making cells somehow and you think there would be some sort of treatment if this is the root caus eof the problem.

the most important thing about this desease is to take the problems easy, not to worry a lot about them. I know that most of the people who have this are smart, kind, sensitive and lovely people, who take care of the others, so good people.
i know that psoriasis is a cyclic desease. it repeats or gets worse every 15-20 days when the moon is full.

Has anyone ever heard of psoriatic arthritis starting before you see any sores on your body. Five years ago, shortly after having my first daughter I experienced an intolerable swelling and pain in one of my toes. They initially diagnosed it as gout. I did everything they said and took the meds for this, including painful cortizone shots, but no success. Then they said it was a tear in the fatty tissue on the bottom of my foot where the toes joins and that it would get better. It luckily did, but since then I have had the same problem in several other toes, including another in the first toe, my wrist, thumb and elbow on my right arm and my left shoulder. Now it is starting to happen in my left hip and both ankels. Just shy of two years ago I ended up with a sore on my right knee and some in my scalp, they have been diagnosed as psoriasis but I can't find a doctor who will make the connection to the arthritis, they just keep testing for rheumatoid and it never is.

My husband went to a Dermatologist this morning and found out the two large red scaly spots on his leg was psoriasis. We didn't know what it was and had to wait a couple of months for an appointment. His PCP wouldn't say what this was. He was given TACLONEX ointment. Just started it today. Anyone used this? These spots started occurring in December. He had dry skin and then it became itchy.

I just happened upon this site and am amazed how horrid this condition can be. I have written down many treatments you all have tried and I thank you and wish everyone well and success.

I have a few more tips. for those with scalp P. try putting vitamin E oil or ointment on your scalp at bed time. Then wrap your head with plastic and wear a winter cap or doo rag over it to keep the heat in and the plastic on. the heat and moisture will soften the scalp. wash your hair in the morning it will be really greasy but this really helps if your scalp is bad. you can try this with perscription scalp treatments too. this also makes your hair soft and shiny. If you dont have much money, Vasoline is a good bet. re-apply several times a day, washing the areas with a wash cloth and water only between applications. If you have fingernail pits....get accrilic nails. I had them off and on for about 2 years each time in had them removed, the nail pits were gone. but they always came back. I understand all aspects of the suffering that we share. I had every kind of P not just one kind. I have never met anyone who had it as bad as me or for as long; I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Its horrible. I am so grateful for humira and i dont care about the risks it has. Its better than what i came out of. I used to spend about 2 hours a day total rubbing stuff on my skin. it affected everything that i did in life. Now there are no limits. i am going to the beach this summer and no one will stare at me. My skin no longer burns constantly, I can wear black. did i mention that i am so very grateful?

After reading these comments. I am suprised that more of you dont know that P is an autoimmune disease. I suffered from P for 28 years. I was born with it all over my body. I had all types of P on all areas of my body. . u name it, i had it It covered about 80 percent of my body at age 28 and i developed PA (arthritis) by this time. I exhausted all types of treatments over my many years of suffering. People were cruel to me, I was depressed. I am now almost 31 years old and my P has been clear for about 18 months. I take methotrexate and humira. Its been a miracle for me. my P is completely clear with no flare ups. My arthrits is gone too. Biologics have risks, but to me its worth it. I never knew what it was like to have soft clear beautiful skin. I am truely grateful. if you have questions...do your own research. find what works for you. I always kept ointments and creams around. Seroids only work for so long. so keep switching it up with a variety of ointment. Burts bees makes some good stuff. or pure vitamin e ointment sooths the burn quite well. but if you wanna get serious, talk to your doctor about biological medications and TNF blockers that work from inside the body. Diets? I tried them...they didn't work for me.

It prettty much came out of nowhere. ive taken many medications for it. currently im on methotrexate and Humira its an injection its definitley cleared up but it does not go away completley.i have it on pretty much my whole body. its painful and extremely itchy! This disease tends to lower your self esteem. It can be embarrasing but theres no use in getting worked up about it. because unfortuantly its probably not going away. I had suffered for many years with this disease and after trying all of the creams and over the conter meds, I had enough of it. By this time I had it over 49% of my body and it was consuming me. I went to my doctor and he said it was time for me to go to a dermatologist. I went to see him and he said I can make all of this go away. I now take pre-filled self injections twice a week (Enbrel). I have been taking it for a year. I saw results within 2 weeks. After 2 months it was all gone! Nothing else will work...go to the doctor and demand to ger a referral for a dermotolist. I think it's obvious to me now that I've had psoriasis for about 20 years although doctors have never been able to pin point what it was. Around the age of ten I had my first flare up that consisted of several itchy imflamed dry patches of skin on both of my legs about the size of fists. This first flare up also included brown spots with a raised center that ended in a point but this was the only tinme I had seen these strange "warts". Doctors perscribed treatment after treatment and I did find releif I think afer they gave me a brown liquid that I would use during a shower. I didn't see anything else on my skin for at least 10 years after that.

I started having a more chronic condition in the middle of the year 2000. Once again it started on my legs in the upper calf region. I was in the military and these doctors didn't know what it was. Once again I was perscribed medication after medication but this time I couldn't find relief. I did finally find relief when I started using over the counter medications. I've found that the Cortizone-10 ointment made a huge difference in my rash. The creme version on the other hand doesn't do a thing so I think it has more to do with the texture of the ointment rather than the 1% Hydrocortisone.

If I can maintain a thin layer of the ointment on the rash long enough the rash eventually disappears. A good skin lotion helps too but mainly as a preventative. I've found that I have more flare ups during the cold dry winters. Injuries such as skin abrasions causes some of my flare ups as well. Areas of my skin especially on the legs where clothing causes constant rubbing will have an almost constant rash. I don't have any allergies and I've been able to rule out different types of fabric, fabric softeners, and laundry detergent.

At this moment I'm grateful that I don't have it nearly as bad as those who have been featured in most of the photographs on this website. I may have around 8 different patches right now but they are all smaller than a dime. Unfortunately 2 of them are in completely new areas. Not only do I have a patch in an almost hard to reach area on my back but now I have a patch on the tip of my penis. I haven't been very good at applying Cortizone-10 on a regular basis but I think now I have a bit more motivation to do so. I have also have had a few patches on or near my elbows and a couple on my knuckles but so far only on my right hand. I think it was only on my hand because of all of the handwashing that I had to do for several of the jobs that I've had.

I've been throwing around the theory in my head that there could be another underlying cause besides scratching my dry skin. I think that there is some truth in the beleif that stress and pent up energy can also cause flare ups. There have been times recently in my life that when I exercised and tried to straiten things out I didn't have much of a problem with my psoriasis. Then again I think that during the summer the layer of sweat on my skin helps to keep my skin moist enough to prevent the rash. I'm sure soneone's diet can have a factor but I don't think anyone should make a real drastic change in their diet unless they have a severe case.

Now that I'm pretty sure that I have psoriasis I can fianlly feel like I can cope with it. I'm just going to have a hard time feeling confident with this spot on my back that is almost hard to reach and the spot on my penis that is at least hard to notice at this time. My current method of treatment isn't the best but now that I know more about psoriasis I now know why my skin had improved when I used to use a tanning a bed. I'm glad I know have a reason to use a tanning bed especially during the winter months. I can only hope that it doesn't appear in other areas.

I read something that really hit home today, psoriasis is just as curable as a cold, we keep getting colds and get rid of them and consider that a cure, so when out psoriasis goes then it's a cure as far as I'm concerned. As a quick fix I get rid of my p by eating and drinking vegy juice, 6wks and then it's gone, but does come back when I return to an acidic diet. What I am doing at the moment is having pranic healing ( chakra and energy healing), my healer tells me my p is to do with an emotion that I have had in my body for 29 yrs and he said that stress aggravates it. I cannot say at the moment if this works as he tell me when you leave something for so many years, it takes a while to remove all the branches and get to the seed.Time will tel, as I do believe that most things we suffer from has some form of emotional history. We have to think of it like this, we could have a deeprooted emotional root, embedded somewhere in the body. That root affects a chakra, the chakra affects the organ, the organ is not working properly because of the root, we then eat crap, the organ has to work harder and tada we have some kind of suffering. So it makes sense to do some inner healing and work on diet. When the emotional seed is removed then the organ will work at its best and we can get away with eating a little crap. Also, I suggest you have a hormone test, see if this is the problem, because this could be the reason. Don't give up trying, anything is possible, you must beleive to recieve. I have been on a mission to clear my p up naturally for the last 6 yrs, I feel like I'm nearly at the end of my mission. Hope this helps. Hi guys,

To overcome psoriasis, you have to stop eating red meat (specially pork), nighshades (tomato, patato, pepper, and eggplant), dairy in any form, white rice (choose brown or wild rice), white sugar (choose brown unrefined sugar, in moderate ammounts), chocolate (too bad for chocolate lovers like me), coffee, white flour, nuts (except almonds, in very very small amounts a day, about 6 pieces), sweets, sodas, alcohol, and tabacco.

I know guys, it is very hard, but remember that 1. it WILL cure you, and 2. it is a healthy diet.
Psoriasis can be cured, you just have to follow a diet (because psoriasis developed thanks to unhealthy foods, which are toxins for your body) and it will go away in about 6 months. You can buy the book by doctor John Pagano 'Healing Psoriasis', or the e-book by Katy Wilson 'Psoriasis-free For Life' (I recommend this one to be more effective), and also visit this website (follow the shakes religiously every day, and in 2 months you're nearly psoriasis-free).

Please, follow my recommendations, be strong, you got absolutely nothing to loose, only your psoriasis. Don't listen to dermatologists when they tell you that there's no cure, I even thought of suicide when I was told by doctors that there's no cure, but there is. It seems like there's a war in the medical community. There are those holistic, vegetarian/vegan doctors curing us, and those prescribing drugs as our only alternative to healing. If you have question, you can write me a brief e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

It could be a relationship,it could be your work etc . All of the creams , lotions, sun beds etc are the equivalent of painting the ceiling when you disover that water is leaking in. It may provide temporary relief but it will not address the source. Once you do what you need to do the psoriasis will go becuase your system will see that you have acted upon the message. Google Reverse Therapy and you will see how this works.

in most cases, psoriasis is caused by overintake of protein and fat, especially animal foods(meat, eggs, dairy, poultry), which causes skin cells to form and shed at extremely higher rate. avoiding those food and eat shift the diet to plant based food could significantly improve the condition.

My results continue to improve with the mangosteen juice (Xango juice). You really need to think about researching this and trying it, if you haven't already. I am really curious to know if anyone else has tried this juice and if they noticed benefits. Again, this juice has been a miracle for me thus far and my psoriasis is close to gone.

Psoriasis may not be completely cured but it can be maintained, have any of you heard of the De Lorenzo Tricho Series?
I've heard very good things about this range of hair products, which can also be used on the body to help maintain psoriasis (and it's all natural and formulated for sensitive skin)
The wife of one of the makers of this tried it personally on her severe psoriasis (which was all over her body) And it stopped the itching and soothed the redness plus calmed the inflammation.
So go to your hairdresser/ look online for De Lorenzo- Tricho- Scalp Balance Cleanser (this can be used all over your body) There's also a Scalp Balance Conditioner and toner, getting all 3 would be ideal if you have scalp psoriasis. There's also a relief treatment cream.
Anyways, I hope this helps!
My mum recently suffers from scalp psoriasis and I'm getting her the series for XMas :)

Hi Denise. So sorry about your husband. I have both eczema and psoriasis, mild thank goodness. My dermatologist warns against over showering. I know he is only coping, wonder if his 15-17 showers per day may make it worse? There are great ideas here, please, let him know various skin problems are not uncommon. There are treatments that can help. Good luck!

Update...I commented about a month ago about my psoriasis and how Xango Juice (mangosteen juice) is curing it. It has been another month and my results are amazing. My psoriasis is almost completely gone. If you have not tried this juice..you need to...this could be your answer. Email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for information on how to order this juice. Please note the most powerful part of the mangosteen is the rind of the fruit. If you are going to try mangosteen juice make sure the juice is a puree and contains the rind. Good luck!

I forgot to add you can also try spirtulina ( I know this is mispelt but to pronounce it is spirit-u-lena)
this also helps. If after 2 weeks you can see a suttle improvement you can try having the mixure of barley grass, wheat grass, spiritulina and acai berry or just the barley grass, wheat grass and acai berry 3 times a day. morning, lunch and dinner. I really hope this helps. I have been taking it for a while now and my skin has improved not that I didn't really have much marks on my face but it has improved my complexion. good luck with everyone willing to try. please let me know.

To Brandy and any others out there

Have you every tried wheat grass and barley grass? It comes in tablets or powder. Powder is better as it dissolves in your system quicker. You can get it from most Health stores. Wheat grass is an anti cancerous
it will cure cancer. If you have 2 tablespoons of this with the barley grass twice a day and eat alkaline food and drink alkaline water you may find some improvement. Basically it is like a detox it cleans the body out getting rid of all the toxins. If you try these products try it with Acai berry it calms the taste down of the barley and wheat grass making it pleasant to drink. Do this every day for about 3 weeks and email me if there is improvement. I would love to help. And I sure hope this does help for any one of you. After 3 weeks continue on taking it to dextox your body. For your information Cancer and any other infections cannot survive in an alkaline environment but can in an acidic environment. This is how people get cancer as their body is too acidic. If you want more information on what foods are alkaline and facts of an acidic environment just type alkaline/acidic. It is very interesting.

I can relate to what Denise is saying about her husband. My son has this awful disease. He is using Methotrexate along with Humira and folic acid, but the the thing that has helped the most with the itching and making it seem to disappear is Clabetasol Creme. 60 mg. Denise, please try to get you husband to go to your family doctor and just ask him to write a prescription for the Clabetasol creme, it will stop his itching IMMEDIATELY! My son swears by it.

Hi Marie-Josee. Actually, it may leave. But if it doesn’t, it can be controlled with a good diet, the sun (or UVB lamps), etc. There are other treatments as well. E.g., I believe that LeAnn Rimes used to use biologics to clear her psoriasis.

Hi Ryan!

Thank you for sharing! I did hear about Mangosteen juice (XanGo juice), but never tried it.

For reference: Mangosteen is an evergreen tree with dark-brown bark and oval leaves. Its fruit consists of a dark inedible skin and white edible flesh with seeds. Mangosteen’s homeland is Southeast Asia. It is widely cultivated in Asia, India, Central America and tropical Africa.

Mangosteen juice is available under many different brands, including: Project Runway, XanGo,
Natures Way, NOW Foods, and Dynamic Health.

The juice can be purchased at many stores online, including: Amazon.com, Bodybuilding.com, the Vitamin Shoppe, Vitacost.com, and Super Supplements.

===

Hi Denise! Please, don’t lose hope! There are treatment methods that can help. I use a small UVB lamp, but there are also full-body lamps. I really believe that UVB is the best way. Maybe you can ask a doctor about it? The lamp can be bought for home use as well.

Hi Joe! Thank you for your compliments, I really appreciate it!

I feel sad for those people who suffer from this disease. My husband suffers as well. His pride keeps him from seeking any kind of treatment. He is covered from the neck down with what looks like a bad sunburn. His way of treatment is to take as many as 15-17 showers in one day to control the itch. He also drinks when showers don't seem to work. He does not own one item of clothing that does not contain blood stains. I am afraid this will kill him.

Thank you for the excellent array of Psoriasis Pictures. The entire site is actually very informative. I have had psoriasis now for over 15 years. The most effective treatment for be has been UVB.

It is my hope that one day there will be a cure for this condition.

I will check back again in the future to see if there are any additions to your Psoriasis Pictures collection.

All the best!

I have it bad on knees, thighs and elbows. I treat it with tanning, Methotrexate injections and keep it moist with Lubriderm with shea and cocoa butter. It gets red and I scratch it all the time but in the grand scheme of life - this is nothing. People ask about it because I am very open and approachable. I tell them all about it and how I treat it. I am also happy that I don't suffer from paralysis or some defect that robs your dignity. I have psoriasis! Big deal! I work every day and don't even try to hide it. I don't care. The quality of my life has more meaning than some silly skin rash!
